Friday, August 6th, 2010August. Yes, Mimi’s birthday is just around the corner
few more sleeps and she’ll turn 18 (again). A little girl who prefers to be a little girl at most of the time (not all of the time). As I scribble this short blog, she’s busy playing with the iPhone and watching a television show. Funny as it seems, she’ll be surprised and overwhelmed upon reading this. <3
I love you, my prinsesita mimi! <3 ![]()
Men of My Life.
Tuesday, August 3rd, 2010

For almost 12-14 years, I did not see Papa (biological dad). At whatever time my special wedding day comes, I wish for my Papa and Otosan (step dad) to walk with me in the aisle. They are my Dads that I cannot take for granted in “our” big day.
Papa, I have not seen you for over a decade, but it does not mean that I fail to remember your birthday. Papa, happy happy birthday. Iloveyou. I hope to see you on September this year when I visit Boracay.
*misty eyed*

Confident Walk.
Wednesday, July 28th, 2010
This is based on my own experience. It always happens not just once, but a lot of times. Then I Googled about walking and I found this. I walk with the combination of chest and chin.

Walk Cycles article here
Walk straight with poise and confidence as if you knew where you are heading to with an exciting “aura” at whatever time you are in an outlandish place. Why? because if you do that, no one would wish to carry out horrifying things on you. Allow anybody looks at you, but DO NOT have an eye contact with him or her. *head-turner* If you are in an unfamiliar place, don’t hesitate to ask for directions. I trust random security guards, by the way.

Whenever I’m out of the country, I always love to wear something that shows My Patriotism. Yes. I’m patriotic. Why? It is because I’m proud where I grew up and learned a lot about “Life”.
I love Philippines. I am Filipino. I speak Tagalog (with “po” and “opo” – saying respect to the elders.) and Cebuano (dialect spoken in Davao). Nagmamano ako.
Our vernacular is also filled with words that show respect. Po or opo are words that either punctuate or end the usual conversational sentences. Please or the equivalent paki is ever present, so is sorry and excuse me. Of course, thank you or salamat is also a most important word. Elders openly reprimand their young when they forget to say these polite words. And, apart from being generous with uttering them, the singsong tone of our voices is indicative of our politeness.
* * *
But actions speak louder than words, or so the saying goes. In deeds, as in words, Filipinos exhibit their courteousness. We either greet our parents by kissing them on the cheeks or on the forehead. We also make mano as courtesy to our lolos and lolas. In Mindanao, Assalam Alaikum is a greeting of courtesy. The right hand used for the handshake is placed on the right chest, a symbol of sincerity which, by the way, is disappearing. Our race is, after all, by and large peace loving.
